Background

Gaëlle graduated as a master in Communication Studies: Media and Society (KU Leuven, 2015). In October 2015 she started working as a doctoral student at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Antwerp under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Heidi Vandebosch and Prof. Dr. Charlotte De Backer. She is a member of the research group Media & ICT in Organizations & Society (MIOS).Gaëlle graduated as a master in Communication Studies: Media and Society (KU Leuven, 2015). Expertise

Gaëlle’s PhD project, CyberWood, concentrates on the influence of negative celebrity news and celebrity ‘bashing’ on the personal involvement in cyberbullying aimed at celebrities and peers. In the second part of the project she will also analyze and discuss the use of celebrity testimonials to tackle cyberbullying and/or to provide support to adolescents who have been cybervictimized themselves.
