Health Narratives

HealthNar Symposium (7-9 July 2016, Augsburg)

The preliminary program of the upcoming HealthNar Symposium is now available here: HealthNar Symposium 2016 program and abstracts

The symposium on “Advances in narrative health communication” is a joint event of the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research of the University of Augsburg, the Department of Media, Knowledge and Communication and the European IRSES-network “HealthNar”.  The event gives opportunity to present and discuss ongoing research on health and narratives in a broad sense, ranging from mass media stories about health behaviors to narrative-based campaigns and user-generated stories about well-being and health in the internet. Apart from presentations of recent research, we will also discuss ways to continue the network activities within the new European “RISE” program and consider possibilities to apply for grants to support common research projects.

Invited keynote speakers
Mary Beth Oliver (Penn State University), Robert Nuscheler (University of Augsburg), Olaf Werder (University of Sydney), Michael Dahlstrom (Iowa State University), John de Wit (University of New South Wales), Paul Bolls (Texas Tech University) and Michael Slater (The Ohio State University)
